Keynote Gardening Speaker Saturday, March 3

Nationally recognized garden speaker and writer, Colleen Plimpton. Please see topics, bio and photo below.
10:00 a.m. “Hello My Garden”
A dynamic “Show ‘n Tell”. A canvas bag full of tools & implements, is explored and ways to use them in the garden are explored. A lighthearted and informative session on everything from avoiding sunburn to how to apply fertilizer to caring for spring-flowering bulbs, critter control, cold-hardiness, and organic practices.
2:00 p.m. “O is for Ornamentation”
A how to discussion on easily, inexpensively, and graciously ornamenting our gardens. A poignant discussion, as the speaker shows the work boots her husband wore, and ruined, when he worked in the search and rescue team at the site of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Filled with flowers, they remain as an important signature in her garden to this day.
